prof. dr. sc. Hrvoje Šimović

Hrvoje Šimović, Ph.D. is professor at Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Zagreb. His field of interest are public finances, fiscal policy and taxation. He is PI for Croatian Science Foundation research project “Public Finance Sustainability on the path to the Monetary Union – PuFiSuMU”, IP-2016-06-4609. Beside regular lectures and classes he is associate at Faculty of Law and Faculty of Organization and Informatics. He was visiting scholar and guest lecturer at Alpen-Adria University –Klagenfurt, Cracow University of Economics, Shanghai University of International Business & Economics, SGH Warsaw School of Economics, HWR Berlin. In 2016 and 2018 he was government advisor for revision of Croatian tax system and tax reform.

doc. dr. sc. Marko Primorac

Marko Primorac is assistant professor at the Faculty of Economics - Zagreb. In addition, he is also engaged in teaching a "Tax systems" course at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varaždin. Areas of his scientific work are public financial and risk management, fiscal federalism and taxation. He also participated in various study programs at the National University of Singapore, Università Bocconi - Milan, the American Institute on Political and Economic Systems and the Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht - Berlin. In 2009, he was a visiting researcher at Glasgow Caledonian University and in 2015 at CESifo (Center for Economic Studies and Ifo Institute) in Munich, where he became a CESifo research network affiliate. In 2016, he was a member of the expert Working group for the revision and development of new legislative solutions in Croatian tax system, and in 2017 a member of the Commission for the development of new local and regional government financing model. He speaks English and German.

Maša Šarić

Maša Šarić is a Partner in Tax Service in EY Croatia. She has been with the firm since 2000, specializes in tax advisory, due diligence and consulting services, corporate, VAT and customs consulting, personal taxes and expatriates consulting to a wide range of clients. As a Partner, she is leading tax advisory and tax related services engagements in Croatia, focusing on corporate and VAT consulting. Maša graduated on the Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb, and she is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).

Robert Heinczinger

Robert is a Partner in EY based in Budapest, Hungary. He graduated from Corvinus University of Budapest and joined EY in 1993 where he is currently leading the business tax advisory, the transaction tax, and tax controversy and litigation teams, covering offerings from tax audit support, through tax dispute resolutions to tax case appeals. During his career, he spent longer periods in London and in New York gaining experience on international tax structures involving Hungary. Robert built up the indirect tax practice in Hungary and was the indirect tax leader for Central-South Europe comprised of 21 countries. He manages all EY services for some large clients in Hungary and acts as a tax account leader on a number of clients in Hungary and in the region.

Prof. Dr. Klaus von Brocke

Klaus von Brocke, International Tax Services Partner at EY Munich and Professor at the Europe Institute in Saarbrücken is one of EY’s leading EU tax law specialists frequently litigating cases involving EU tax law and state aid law at all Courts including the European Court of Justice. He will act as one of our lecturers representing the EU side of the current international corporate taxation debate. Klaus, German attorney at law, joined EY in 2004 and is one of the technical experts as concerns the Directive on mandatory disclosures.

Vasil Milev

Vasil Milev is a Manager in Tax Services in EY Croatia specialized particularly in VAT. He has experience in several Member States across the EU. He holds a master’s degree in European and International Tax Law from Lund University, Sweden. After graduation he started his tax career at EY in Bulgaria, where he spent almost 6 years. After this Vasil continued his career in London where his field of expertise was VAT in the financial sector. He finally joined EY in Croatia in 2017. He is a part of EY’s indirect tax team and has been involved in various cross-border and national VAT projects in many industries. He also participated in projects of the European Commission and a working group for drafting and implementation of a cash accounting scheme in Bulgaria, and led numerous other VAT advisory projects in various tax systems.

Milen Raikov

Milen Raikov, attorney-at-law, is a Partner in EY for Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo. He is a member of the Sofia Bar Association and a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). He is a Board Member of the Automotive Cluster in Bulgaria, a co-chairman of the Tax and Finance Committee of AmCham in Bulgaria, and a member of the tax and legal committees of the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists and the German-Bulgarian Commercial Chamber. He is also an author of a number of publications in the field of international taxation including VAT, FS and leasing for leading international and local business media. Milen is a frequent speaker on international and local events in the field of international taxation, EU freedoms, and direct application of EU law.
